GREAT NEWS ABOUT Alumni CLUB MEMBERSHIP!

Van France and Dick Nunis intended all former cast members to be members for life. Several contributing factors have now made their vision a solid reality--not just for former Disneyland cast members but for ALL former members of the Disney family. But before we discuss those factors let’s look at some history.

The Club was created in 1983 as an employment benefit to provide a transitional avenue to go from working at the “Happiest Place on Earth” to working and living in the “real” world. Too, the Club was to be a resource for cast members to reach one and other, share history, experiences, and share or enrich life skills, talents, and knowledge.

When it was christened, the Club was a Disneyland corporate responsibility and membership was free. Back then, the Club existed as a mailing list in Van’s desk!

As time went on, Disneyland changed and as Dick and Van were no longer there to champion the Disneyland Alumni Club we became a self-supporting organization with our own elected Board of Directors and it became necessary to charge a nominal fee to maintain yearly membership to cover Club expenses. In the past, members were invoiced for membership dues on a date-of-joining basis and if a member failed to renew their Alumni Club membership they were dropped from the roster.

BACK TO THE FUTURE

In order to provide all the services we do now and more in the future we need your help and financial support. At present our dues are $15 per year. ACTIVE MEMBERS who pay their dues are eligible to take advantage of all Club services and benefits; attend our events, purchase Club merchandise, get discounted travel packages, and special benefits not available to inactive members. Membership is open to all Disney Cast members, past and present, also employees of current or past Disneyland and Disneyland Resort vendors, licensees, and contractors. If you're in doubt if you qualify please email us and ask! PLEASE NOTE: all non-Disneyland cast MUST register as an ACTIVE member. Inactive membership is for Disneyland Resort and Theme Park only!

We would like everyone to be an active member because as our membership benefits grow you’ll be able to to join in the fun and stay totally connected. But no member, regardless of their membership status, will ever again be dropped from the roster. What happens if you don’t pay dues? Well, you're just an inactive member with limited privileges. Because of the Internet and the cost-free digital world Inactive members will receive all emails, be able to visit our web site, and be able to keep up on Club activities, but they will NOT be eligible to take advantage of all the Alumni Club has to offer until they become Active Members.  Why? Because..... You’re always part of the magic!
